Popularly identified as the program which gave 16-year-old Bill Clinton an opportunity to meet then President Kennedy in the White House Rose Garden, the American Legion Boys Nation program is a continuation at the national level of the various state-level Boys State programs.
In Nebraska, two outstanding citizens of Cornhusker Boys’ State are selected by a vote of the 32-member town counseling staff. These two Boys Nation Senators are judged to be those most capable of representing our program in Washington D.C., where they will enjoy an expenses-paid opportunity to learn about the federal government.
Boys Nation is held annually in July, approximately six weeks after Cornhusker Boys’ State.
