Their are athletes at Cornhusker Boys’ State, and then their are pentathletes. These men will compete, not only in a regular sport such as football, basketball, softball, or volleyball; but also in six tests of athletic skill (the score from their lowest-scoring event is dropped, hence pentathlon). These include: the 40-yard dash, the pro-agility run, free throws, the 300-yard shuttle run, the shot put, and the vertical jump. This afternoon, the pentathletes hit the basketball court to try their hands at free throws.
