With Yorktown’s first school board meeting in session, there was a lot to discuss. These new policies included topics such as cell phones in school, random drug testing for students participating in extracurricular activities, and a fresh food initiative. After roughly 45 minutes of intensive debate among the board, they passed multiple policies aimed at improving the Yorktown school system. This meeting was open to the public, allowing them to share their thoughts and questions, which helped the board better comprehend multiple viewpoints. Yorktown is eager to see what future policies the school board has in mind.
