Athletics at Cornhusker Boys’ State has a proud tradition. Each town fields a team in basketball, flag football, sand volleyball, and softball. At the end of pool play, teams will be seeded in a championship tournament.

The 2017 track meet came down to the last event this year, the 4×400 meter relay. Prior to the race Yorktown (Orange) had a 6 point lead. Manila Bay’s strong 4×400 performance earned them the narrow victory. Congrats to the men in green!
On a sunny summer day, one popular activity at Boys’ State is sand volleyball. The eight towns will compete during the week for seeding in the championship on Friday.
On a sunny summer day in June, the Ed Weir track on UNL campus was host to the Cornhusker Boys’ State track meet. Events included the 800m, 100m, 1600m, 400m, 4x100m, 4x400m, long jump, high jump, shot put, and discus.
This afternoon, on the sand courts in front of Harper Hall and on the Mabel Lee Fields, delegates showed that they are not only intelligent, community-minded young men, but also fierce athletic competitors.
