Tanner Barry (Center) of Louisville HS – Chief Justice of the Cornhusker Supreme Court
Tanner Barry of Louisville High School was appointed by Governor Anish Amin after Barry and other applicants were elevated by a delegate-led nominating committee. During the week-long camp, Barry and the approximately 50 other Boys State students in the Cornhusker Boys’ State court system attend specialized education and hold mock trials. The pinnacle of the experience is the Friday session at the Nebraska State Capitol, where the Cornhusker Supreme Court hears cases behind the bench in the Supreme Courtroom.

Your success in this prestigious event is a testament to your leadership skills, teamwork, and dedication. You have represented your town with honor and distinction, and we applaud your outstanding performance. Town champions are crowned after the weeklong camp, during which points are assigned for various accomplishments. Congratulations once again to the champions from Gettysburg!
Grant Ruma of Creighton Prep High School (Omaha) and Nikolai Khots of Elkhorn South HS (Omaha) were selected to represent Cornhusker Boys State at the 2024 American Legion Boys Nation program in Washington, D.C. later this summer. American Legion Boys Nation is a week-long program where high school students participate in a hands-on citizenship experience at the federal level. Participants learn about the federal government and its operations through mock senate sessions, leadership development, and visits to historical landmarks in Washington D.C. There are 50 Boys State programs in America. Each program selects two “Senators” to attend this ultra-competitive camp.
Colby Cameron of Millard North High School and Hunter Warnke of Lincoln East High School were selected as alternate delegates to attend the program in the event that the primary delegates are unable to attend.

Grant Ruma of Ft. Calhoun and Omaha’s Creighton Prep High School was elected the governor of Cornhusker Boys State 2024. He is a citizen of the Boys State town of Yorktown.
