Cornhusker Boys’ State Courts Hear Cases

On Tuesday the judicial process kicked off as the Boys’ State Judicial Committees convened to review candidates seeking appointments for District Judge and for the State Supreme Court. Following committee interviews, the finalists met with Anish Amin, the current Governor of Cornhusker Boys’ State, for final selections. Final appointments are listed below.

On Wednesday, June 7 the judicial program resumed as attorneys were assigned cases. Judges and attorneys then began researching and preparing for cases to be heard in the County/District Courts. Thursday, four cases were heard in each County/District Court. The judicial program concluded on Friday as the Boys’ State Supreme Court heard four cases, including two at the Nebraska State Capital in the Supreme Court chamber.


The cases argued this week are current United States Supreme Court cases. United States v. Rahimi, City of Grants Pass v. Johnson, Moody v. NetChoice, and Lindke v. Freed.
