Basketball Wraps Up Final Regular Season Games

Basketball moved outside today for their third and final regular-season games. Gettysburg and Manila Bay finished undefeated and will play for the championship, while Alamo and Yorktown entered their games needing wins to challenge for a spot in the 3rd and 4th place games; both brought home the victory, with Alamo narrowly winning in a 10-7 victory. Bataan and Bunker Hill will play in the 5th and 6th place game. Belleau Wood and Valley Forge continued their struggle, but they will get a chance to play each other for their first win of the week.

Day two of volleyball brought intense rallies, narrow finishes, and major shifts in momentum. Valley Forge and Belleau Wood remain undefeated at 2-0, both surviving tough tests to stay atop the standings. Valley Forge edged out Gettysburg in two tight sets, while Belleau Wood held off a fierce challenge from Manila Bay in a three-set battle. Bunker Hill bounced back with a strong win over Yorktown, who now drops to 0-2. Alamo pulled off a thrilling comeback against Bataan, winning a nail-biting third set of 18-16. With most teams now sitting at 1-1, the race to the top is wide open heading into the latter part of the week!

Boys’ State basketball is off to a roaring start with fast breaks, drained threes, and dunks. Gettysburg and Manila Bay are both 2-0, while both Valley Forge and Belleau Wood are yet to claim their first victory. Teams are focusing on their offense with the highest scoring game of the week (so far) reaching 157 points! The games today were played in the Coliseum on the University of Nebraska campus. This week is sure to bring even more fun and excitement.
